Big E Results
On September 19th, the Forestry and Food Science teams competed in the Eastern States Exposition. The Forestry team placed sixth, while the Food Science team placed first, becoming the first winner of the food science CDE at the Big E.
The Milk Quality and Evaluation attended the National FFA convention in Louisville, Kentucky. While there, they placed tenth as a team, with Nicole placing eighth overall.
Five teams from Oley Valley competed in the Envirothon Competition held at Nolde Forest. They placed first, third, fourth, sixth, and ninth. The first place team went on to finish seventh overall at the state competition with the highest score in the Soils and Land Use category.
From June 13-15, thirty Oley Valley FFA members competed in State level CDEs at Penn State University. The Milk Quality and Evaluation and Floriculture teams placed first, earning themselves a trip to the National Competition in Indianapolis, Indiana. Morgan placed first overall in Milk Quality and Evaluation. The Forestry and Food Science teams both placed second again this year, with Zaren placing first overall. The Food Science team will return to the Eastern States Exposition, which will be held in September at Springfield, Massachusetts.
